Doctrinal Statement

Okanogan County Holiness Association

  1. We believe in one God---the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
    • cf. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 1:21&22; John 1:1-5; Genesis 1:1
  2. We believe that the Holy Bible (Old and New Testament) is divinely inspired, infallible, and contains all truth necessary to Salvation and Sanctification.
    • cf. 2 Timothy 3:16&17; John 17:17; Deuteronomy 4:2; 2 Peter 1:20&21
  3. We believe that man is born with a fallen nature and is, therefore, inclined to sin.
    • cf. Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 15:21; Ephesians 2:1&2
  4. We believe that the impenitent will be eternally lost and without hope.
    • cf. Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 6:23, 2:5
  5. We believe that Salvation is accomplished through the redeeming act of God in Jesus Christ, and by the seeker receiving forgiveness of sins through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
    • cf. Matthew 1:21; Luke 24:46-48: John 1:1-5, 16:7-15; Romans 3:25&26; Philippians 3:9; Colossians 1:13
  6. We believe that Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit, by whom the consecrated Christian is cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ in heart from inbred sin and empowered for holy living and service.
    • cf. Ephesians 5:26&27; Romans 6:22; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Romans 15:16; Acts 26:18; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 6:11
  7. We believe that both salvation and sanctification are maintained and will grow through willful conformity to the Word of God as the revealed word of God.
    • cf. 1 Peter 1:1&2; Psalm 119:11-16; Romans 6:1&2
  8. We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to one's Salvation and Sanctification.
    • cf. Romans 8:16; Ephesians 1:13
  9. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return, the dead, both just and unjust, will be raised; then, final judgment will take place.
    • cf. Revelation 20:11-15
